Leona Brandwene (Master of Applied Positive Psychology) is the Associate Director of Education at the Positive Psychology Center and provides oversight to the MAPP program and the Applied Positive Psychology undergraduate certificate. She serves as the coordinating instructor for two courses in the MAPP program and was the 2021 recipient of the Liberal and Professional Studies Award for Distinguished Teaching in Graduate Programs. Leona serves on the Council of Advisors of the International Positive Psychology Association; is a scientific advisor for Trellus Health, an organization supporting the needs of individuals with inflammatory bowel disease; and is on the board of Shining Light, an organization that leverages positive psychology to build the well-being of incarcerated individuals. She has served as a coach/consultant for national health care performance improvement projects as well as employee wellness and community health initiatives. She loves running, cycling, family, supporting youth sports in her community, and crewing for her daughter in triathlons. She lives in the Lancaster area with her husband, Josh, and their 17-year-old daughter, Sophie.
