Stephen Pettigrew is the Director of Data Sciences of Penn Program on Opinion Research and Election Studies and the Deputy Executive Director of the Fox Leadership Program at the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to coming to Penn, Stephen received a PhD in political science and a master’s degree in statistics from Harvard University and worked at the MIT Election Data and Science Lab. His research informs discussions about topics like representation, accountability, and race by focusing on issues related to voting accessibility and problems with the way elections are run in the United States. He also studies sports analytics and has been a contributor to FiveThirtyEight, the Wall Street Journal, and Deadspin. Stephen received a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from the University of Georgia in 2011.
