Dr. Helen Jeoung is a lecturer in critical writing at the Marks Family Center for Excellence in Writing at the University of Pennsylvania. She has a PhD in linguistics and over a decade of professional experience in nonprofits and community-based organizations, including writing for program planning and results-based frameworks. Helen has experience on both ends of the funding cycle: She has written grant applications and has also reviewed applications for awards and funding. As a research associate at the Center for High Impact Philanthropy (CHIP) she coauthored the booklet Bold Ideas for Philanthropists to Drive Social Change and was a 2016–17 Lipman Fellow in the McNulty Leadership Program administered by Wharton. Helen continues to serve as an external reviewer for philanthropic awards and as a reviewer for linguistics journals.
