Portfolium to Support University of Pennsylvania Online Bachelor’s Degree Program

The University of Pennsylvania’s College of Liberal and Professional Studies (LPS) has selected Portfolium’s Student Success network to support Penn LPS Online’s newly launched Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (BAAS), a groundbreaking online, accredited Ivy League bachelor’s degree.

Designed for working adults and other non-traditional students, Penn LPS Online’s Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences program provides a liberal arts education built with career enhancement in mind. Portfolium's unique ePortfolio technology will be used as the sole source platform for students to fulfill the program’s ePortfolio requirement. Portfolium’s ePortfolios and assessment software will provide faculty and administration with a modern, streamlined solution for assessing learning artifacts. By populating digital portfolios with robust evidence of academic and professional skills, students will be able to tailor an educational experience that fits their goals all within their unified learning profile.

“Portfolium provides an ePortfolio solution that we believe will meet all of our immediate programmatic needs and additional functionality that will allow us to grow and evolve as a new program, especially in the areas of assessment and pathway creation,” said Joshua Power, Director of Career Advising and Programming at LPS, “Integration with our university's learning management system promises to provide ease of use for students and increases the likelihood of widespread adoption by our faculty.”

“Supporting Penn LPS Online in their mission to innovate higher education for adult and non-traditional learners at an Ivy League standard is entirely congruent with our core values as a company,” said Troy Markowitz, Vice President of Academic Partnerships at Portfolium, “Which is why we are extremely thrilled to be a part of this giant leap forward for -- not just educational technology -- but education, in general.”

Applications for the BAAS are now open; courses for the degree start in fall 2019.
